Nicosia, April 20, 2026 (TAK): The Fire Department under the Police General Directorate (PGM) announced that, until 31 October, it is strictly forbidden to light fires in forested areas, even for cleaning purposes.

The statement issued on Thursday, emphasised that “timely measures prevent disasters” and urged citizens to act with caution.
